Angry Leaking Battery...

Among the list of other things that need to be fixed, my battery is now leaking. It's quite a mess in that area as a result. My question is, is this battery junk now or can it somehow be fixed? Believe it or not I've never had to deal with a bad battery before.

Where can I get a good/cheap replacement? IIRC, some places will give you a discount on a new battery if you bring them the old one.

Thanks

Replace the battery if it is leaking. While it's out, clean everything really well. I use baking soda & water to neutralize the acid. There are other ways, but this is easy & cheap.

As for replacement brand, I'd recommend Interstate or ACDelco. In my experience, cheap batteries are more problems than they are worth. You get what you pay for.

Well.....bottom line.....its junk and can't be fixed. How old is it? Check it for warranty. As far as replacements I have always been an Optima fan. I have had one in my truck going on 6 years and still have ZERO problems. The are a little expensive though. I have used Duralast Golds before (AutoZone) and they have been great batteries as well and they are very reasonable in price.

Definately get that battery replaced ASAP as the acids will start corroding and ruin paint.

+1 for ACDELCO 6 year warranty. Mines in it's 7th year.

+1 on everything, yes your battery is junk, and we still use baking soda and water here at the Lexus dealership, it even works on these high priced luxury cars lol.

I'm currently running an Interstate MegaTron battery, have used them for years as a replacement in all of my rides...my second choice is AC Delco, but I've found them to be hit or miss. I've seen the Delco's go 12 years without a hiccup, of puke out after 6 months...not too many of the 6 month deaths though.
