Your pushrods were way to short. That's where the noise came from.

Look in sig for cam size. I had my heads milled .022 and ended up using a 7.250 push rod with the stock rockers. The LS7 lifters I have, the lifter/push rod cup is higher up inside the lifter. This also made me fun such a short push rod.

Sounds like maybe the adjustment wasnt right, or the rockers might have been hitting something. I don't see how they could be thay noisy, crane makes a good rocker.

What is the base circle of the cam?
I agree pushrods are to short.
It makes sense cause that would also make your cam seem smaller which would normally cause it to rev alittle quicker.
