I bought a set of valve covers off tech that the seller claimed were LS3 valve covers off a set of L92 heads but he never ran them. He just got them with the L92s he bought.

When i got them, they looked very similar to stock valve covers on my truck and the same valve covers that i pulled off the 6L with 317s. I checked and the part numbers are the same as the 317 valve covers.

Today i pulled the valve covers off my 2004 5.3L silverado and sure enough they are the same part number

I am wondering if the truck valve covers work on L92 heads because from what I've read the baffles need to be ground down to clear?

Any insight? Or did the seller just sell me a set of stock truck valve covers

I run 317 valve covers on LS3 heads no problems here and no modifications. Sorry don't have your exact answer

 

Ah maybe the later year truck valve covers work but the earlier ones don' t. My friend has an 02 5.3L and his valve covers are different than the ones from my 04.

 

I'm pretty sure the valve covers changed on the 03-07 classic. IIRC that's why I can't run the 3-piece engine covers that I've got.
