L92 heads vs. ported LS6/317s

I always run 93. I got a little nervous when there was the gas crunch several months back when gas stations quit keeping 93 but I was always able to find it.

If I stay with the 228r cam I'm expecting ~400rwhp. That would be a 95rwhp gain from the cam and heads.

reading up as much as I can . . . looking at a low lift L92 setup. . . getting parts


so what did you put down with the heads/228?

nothing is installed yet.

I really like the L92 heads, I just didn't feel like changing out all the things that it required. When you added up all the costs to swap over to the L92 setup for me, the price was the same as the ported 317s which flow a little less on the intake side, and flow much better on the exhaust than the L92.

you must be comparing stock l92 heads to ported 317 or 243 heads, l92s flowed 320 straight from the factory, just think what they flow ported and polished

^^^^^^ ran a sweet *** time with L92 stuff. I hope to run that good.
more air in = more power.
You will still have abunch of stuff to change to run the LS6 intake...less to run a l92 intake and you get the bigger TB...when the more air going in starts.

But those 317's will be nice.
