Ryan, BigTex is the LS1 edit tuning guru on the LM7 engines. He will have to step in and explain what to do in edit to help slow the KR. I can program with the TechII with the software I have at my job but the last time I tried to mess around with it I really fucked something up. Flashed it back to stock and just used the Hypercrap. One day when the rich uncle gets out of the poorhouse I will get edit. Till then I scratch my *** and try to do it the old way.

The false knock bitch is what i have been dealing with.Ed.W tuning brought the WOT timing up from 15degrees to 20.But still was showing 7 degrees of KR.What i did was unplug the KSs clear the codes and then take it for a blast,28degrees timing and running good, until the PCM realizes the KSs were unplugged then limp mode of 7degrees of KR.I had Ed delete the KSs The truck does everything right except it has to much timing at WOT 30-32.5, It feels like it labors at high RPM but never any ping i could hear.He is still working on it.How about you trying LT4 KSs, i believe they have a different fequency.I emailed 9ball about my problem he said his box will save about 2-4 degrees of timing at best, not enough for me,you are leaving a ton of HP on the table with 7degrees of KR

This post isn't going to be of any help but I find this thread interesting. The reason I say this is because with our Lightning engs, we have no knock sensors. The theory from Ford is that our engs. are "too noisy" so no knock sensors. The PCM pulls timing some other way for our engs.

I went ahead and sent out the money to Tony for the knock box. Hell I will try it. If I only get 1 or 2 kr at top I will be happy. 7 is just to much for me. I will let everyone know the results after I get it.

Dan - that is interesting. It seems that on a semi-stock truck, the knock sensors do their job fine. When you try and extract those extra horses out of it, those sensors are a real pain in the butt.

Jody - please keep me informed of the progress on the box. I may go that route and keep using LS1 edit to keep knock down.

i built my own adjustable "knockout" box, it seems to be working well, i ended up at 30 or 35% desensatiation and no ses light. you can try and use ls1edit but for it didn't work at all. you can slow how fast the KR comes on and you can speed up how fast it goes away but if you have a prety much continuas knock signal nither one of those things will help.

with a 30-35% desensation i don't see much kr and if i hear any actual knock and then i check the logs it is showing 15deg of kr so it is still working. i upped the max it can pull since i reduced every thing else. summer will tell if i really have this figured out or not.
