They say 100K I think. But that is rediculus..

I usually do mine every 3rd or 4th oil change, depending on how it looks.

I usually clean mine every few oil changes. Or when its starting to look brown more then red.

Try not to go crazy on the oil though, or be prepared to clean that MAF sensor shortly after.

With my Volant w/ ram air CAI kit, I have to spin the cone filter 180* after one oil change, then I have to clean it 2,000mi later before the following oil change. I change my oil every 4,000 mi. Ram air = a really dirty air filter! It will have at least an 1/8th in thick of dirt and grime built up on the entire top side of the air filter.
The O.E. K&N flat panel air filter in my 2001 Impala is cleaned every 15,000mi. It's still not all that bad then.
It will vary from vehicle to vehicle.

Yeah like Travis and Ron said, and to fix the problem with large debris just get a K&N filter wrap

my Volant filter with out the ram air scoop is still pretty clean after 12,000/ 1 year, but that's usually when I clean it, it helps me keep track of when it was last time I did it.
