i bought the UPD intake when it was a big thing on this website. it has the k&n drop in filter and utilizes the bottom of the factory box. I do like it and noticed a slight "wake up"....but i think it gained attention more effectively than it gained hp/torque.

MTI updated my tune after I installed my filter and we saw gains on the dyno of about 15 hp and 15 ft/lbs at the wheels.

not sure how much hp to be honest with u, but what i noticed the most was from a dead stop. before mod, it would chirp the tires a good 5 feet or so. after install did the samething from the same stop sign and it not only chirped but did for a least three times farther than normally. that would tell me it picked up some tq somewhere. i just like the over all feel of the truck alot more now. the truck seems to pull alot stronger through out the rpm range.

I noticed better throttle response, and better pull down low and in the midrange. I went from stock, to a magnaflow muffler, and lost some of low-end power. The FIPK was my next mod and it gained all the low end back and then some. I'd estimate 10-15hp on mine. Its enough to feel a difference, and I don't think you can feel a 5hp difference in one of these trucks.

I'm really thinking about getting an intake now.

Not sure which way to go. K&N, AEM, AFE, Air-Raid, or AirForce One. They all seem to have little drawbacks to each.

I'd really love to see a non-biased shootout of these intakes. Part of me thinks that any gains "felt" by people are more so of a placebo effect from all the noise an intake makes.
