I will be tossing the fan and going with a dual electric fan setup. I wanted the LQ4 b/c I plan on mounting a power adder like a Supercharger or turbo. The only question I have right now is, what needs to be done to a 2wd 4L80E to mount to the transfer case in a 4wd, my Yukon is a 4wd. I plan on striping the engine down and rebuilding it completely. Any advice anyone wants to throw me, I'm all ears.

Nice buy!
To convert it from 2wd 80e to 4wd, you have to change the output shaft, which requires pulling all the guts out of the tranny and swapping the output shaft for 4wd unit. You will also need a 4l80e to t-case adapter.
Converting the truck from 4l60 to 4l80 is quite complex. Need both drive shafts replaces, chopped up cross member, some rewiring, cooler lines modified, reprogrammed PCM, ect. Look at KySilverado's thread...

I was thinking about that, but I was going to gut it anyways...so I don't think it will matter that much. Anyone have an idea how much a new 4wd output shaft is? I want this trans as close to new as I can get it before it goes in. I will also be installing a shift kit before she's ready to go.
