Default JBA Header question

I got my '00 5.3L Sierra today. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> I gotta a question already.

What is the fitting on the driverside header for? It is on the #3 cylinder header tube if I'm not mistaken.

I got the truck today and I see that the fitting just has a blockoff plate on it. If it was an air injection fitting I need to hook it back up to get my Maryland inspection. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Thanks

John

Anyone? <img border="0" alt="[boring]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_zzz.gif" />

I guess I should say that the truck came with JBA headers on it. It was used. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

BTW, anyone want a set of slightly used JBA's for cheap. I'm going to order a set of AS&M's for the big motor. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Thanks

John

CashDudeHomie - I'm not sure when I'll have them ready. I'm going to check around and see if I can get some custom 1 7/8 headers first. If I can't I'll go ahead and order the AS&M's. I wouldn't be taking the JBA's off until I get some other headers and the lead time on the AS&M's seems to be pretty long.

I'll email you with a price. You might just want to wait for this price. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Hmmm...maybe I'll talk to them about building a bigger tube header. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

BTW, Do you have a phone # for them?

Thanks again

If the tube faces the front of the motor it is the EGR. If the tube faces the hood it is AIR. More likely than not it is AIR as the 99'-01' will throw a low EGR saturation code if the EGR is too restrictive or blocked.

Where's it hook to? My dads '99 2500HD doesn't seem to have anything on the drivers side manifold. Got any pics?

The EGR is connected to the passenger side header.

Thanks

GMC SKI - Thanks. I've got Tbyrnes number in my speed dial from previous purchases. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
