Default It's about time for some brakes

The factory brakes on my truck have lasted for 75k+ miles. I think I've let them go a little long though. I'm contemplating going w/ GM pads, but are there any aftermarket pads that are better? I'm really concerned w/ brake dust on the billets more than stopping power...the stock brakes have done me just fine.

Any opinions on aftermarket pads? Any that I should stay away from? Are the GM pads best for keeping the brake dust down?

Ive heard ceramics are good for little brake dust, but Ive heard they sound horrible and squeel badly. Ive heard that the Hawk pads are good, but Im not sure about the break dust.

I'm running some Ceramic pads from Advance autoparts (don't remember the name) but they work great and no noise or dust yet. Been running them for about 10K miles.

I have cryogenically treated slotted rotors and pads that I got from Praise Dyno that are awesome. Stops on a dime with absolutely no noise and very little dust. I got all 4 rotors, pads, and e-brake shoes shipped to my door in New Jersey for less than $750. Their place is located somewhere in Texas. Great customer service too. Their website is priasedynobrake.com, if you wanna check em out.

What kit did you get? I did not see anything listed for newer trucks.

I called the phone number and talked to someone there...can't remember the name, John maybe? Well, anyway, they were running a special at that time, told me they have specials all of the time. Their R&D vehicle is a NBS truck, which is really nice cause you know the stuff works. If you give em a call I'm sure that they can answer all of your questions.

75k seems awfully quick to be wearing out brakes. Do you tow a lot in the mountains or something? My 99 Sierra brakes lasted for over 230k miles, and my 02 Silverado brakes still look good at 143K. BTW, both trucks were used for some heavy hauling and the 02 has seen a good bit of duty towing car trailers.
