Default Intake tube clearance

Recently, I bought my FIPK kit, Poweraid throttle body spacer, and a VR Airfoil. I have a problem with the tube on the FIPK and the clearance to my stock fan. With the throttle body spacer on it and the air foil, I have to run my stock intake tube. Even without the spacer on it, the K&N tube still contacts the fan. The clearance between the fan shroud and the throttle body isn't much. Any ideas on a better intake tube or am I doing something wrong?

Some trucks require the fan shroud to be trimmed a little in order for the FIPK tube to fit....with a TB spacer I'm not sure you'll ever get the FIPK tube to fit unless you swap to electric fans

My intake just misses the shroud, and I have wanting to put a throttle body spacer on and will have to trim even more. I have a AEm Brute Force intake.

Are the throttle body spacers worth it on these intake manifolds? What can they possibly do to improve the air flow? These engines have Vortec technology buillt into the intake manifold runners. Maybe the best bet would be just to leave the throttle body spacers out. OK I don't know for sure this is just what I have read but they don't make any sense to me. In a carbureted engine where the gas and air are mixed before entering the intake I can see some value in them but not in a FI engine.

I currently have the TB spacer (the Helix Bore) and the Vara-Ram air foil in. I don't mind cutting the fan shroud or going to electric fans. I have noticed the difference with the spacer in. From idle to WOT. Acceleration is more crisp and fluid. Thanks for the responses, and I appreciate all help.

03 ECSWB 3" MAgna Flow Exhaust, Poweraid Throttle Body Spacer, Vara-Ram Air foil, JBA 8mm wires

Full length headers, F.A.S.T. intake and throttle body to come....am looking for aftermarket coils. Have heard of them but cannot find ANYTHING.

take off the TB spacer... it really doesn't make a difference in the HP

if you think is does, you are fooling yourself. The FIPK alone is all you need as far as intake goes, unless you are going to port the Throttle body..

I had to trim back my shroud a tad for my K&N w/o a throttle body spacer. It cleared fine at idle, but when it was powerbraked, the intake tube would just touch. Ground it down just a weensie bit.

Chris99gmc, I took off the TB spacer and guess what? I didn't notice a damn bit of difference. At the same time, I took the liberty to swap my rearend gears for 3.73
