Default intake manifold (worth it or not?)

Was thinking of my next mod. It usually takes me about 3-4 months to get something done so I am thinking of my next mod.

Right now, cam, air intake, shorty headers & corsa cat back, tune.

In the next week or so Futral Motorsports to do gear swap, tt 3000 stall and shift kit.

Is a new intake manifold worth the $$$? It seems like a very simple mod.

If so, which type, one from an LS6?

LS6 intakes seem to be the popular choice, plan on spending a good $300 or more for one though.

from what i know, the intakes on our trucks seem to be a really good intake. Heat soak is a issue, but from researching that mod, i found that its not quite worth it, unless you are pushing big numbers.

and the swap isnt hard, its just not easy, theres some work in it. untill you did more mods, and ur intake was holding u back, i would keep it, just my opinion

Unless you have a big cam and ported heads and need more flow up top, I'd stick with the truck manifold for now. Once you start noticing that you're dropping off after 5500 RPM but your set-up should be good well past 6500, then I'd be looking towards a new intake (LS6, FAST, etc.)

I agree 100%. My heads and cam out flow my intake by far... you can actually feel the drop in power nearing the 5500 mark. It's sad
I wanted to swap to the LS6 but I decided to hold off for the FAST 90/90 and the possibility of a DP system in the distant future.
