Hey, its the flag guy. Funny you should ask about intake work. I had my heads milled .050,and ported. The intake had to be milled some to match up right to the heads, and I figgured what the hell. It was port mached to the heads by Brent Frazier Racing,Which is part of speed craft. The head and intake work were @750 and the 3 dyno pulls with air fuel tuning was a 100 more. The increase in throttle responce and power is awsome.

Thats funny. So you have some good head work done. Why wasn't that listed as one of your mods on the other post? Do you have a cam too? If you pulled the heads, a cam swap is a no brainer.

I personally think that porting the intake isn't the best idea. Intake port velocity is key in making power. The truck intake with its long runners is designed to get air flow up to velocity and ram it into the head and cylinder. The air just coming into the intake runner will assist in forcing the air out of the other side. This produces more torque in the mid rpm range.

No, I dont have a cam. I wish I did though. Before I found this site yesterday I thought I was the only one crazy enough to try to make a truck like mine fast. The list of mods I gave was just a general list of aftermarket add-ons. If you want to know every detail of anything altered on my truck just ask. As far as not being able to port the intake because its plastic, . A GOOD machine shop shouldnt have a problem
Hey BigTex, what do you do for a living? It sounds like you know a little about engine building.
