Default Intake on an ati procharger

Has anybody figured out a way to get the air filter away from the block with an procharger. This is a very crappy design, I think if the air filter can be moved it would probably be worth about 30-40 horsepower. I have seen people move them with a ram air hood, but i really don't want a ram air hood. Does anybody else have an idea.

thanks

I have seen some really heavy flex hose(some kind of plastic, not metal) w/ a Vortech kit that may work, so you can route it up front. I haven'tgot a chance to look at soem close up. Seems like it would work well, though.

You will most likely have to have some custom fabrication made to get what you want.
The April '03 edition of Sport Truck magazine had an article of a guy with a procharged 6.0. That setup is what I would like to do.
If you guys want, I'll scan the pics and post em up or email em to you.

I think i had figured out a way to do it
It envloves moving the computer and the battery
this should work
turning the intake underneath the blower and pointing it near the wheel well
i'm still in the process of figuring it out
I'm also in the process of building a bigger intercooler for the front of the truck
anybody interested in one ?

i've seen the truck in truckin and street trucks, he has a ram air hood though. What do you guys think about spraying juice or co2 on the intercooler to cool down the air charge if that is done the air filter really doesn't need to be moved.

On the lower right, you can see where the pcm is now. I don't have any pics of the bracket though. It is kind of a junky bracket anyway. Doesn't fit perfectly or anything, and uses a corner screw on the pcm to mount to the core support, which I don't really like. Sam
BTW the surge hose is now hooked up according to directions(for emissions), and the FMU is gone.

A truck being mentioned in this thread was owned and built by me. Here is a link to a slideshow detailing some of the work on it.

http://www.mashedpedal.com/One_Bad_ass_Ride\ride.htm

You can also see the pics and other mods by going to the Silverado page from my home page http://www.mashedpedal.com/

I used to have this truck posted on my website however I sold that vehicle and no longer post any of my vehicles on my site for various reasons. I hope you like the pics in the slideshow and it should be up for viewing for some time to come. The truck was a show winning 2000 Silverado and was custom front to rear, NOS, ATI D1SC, 6.0 motor with SCAT billet 4.00” crank and many custom applications including a truck bed that rocked the show!

Enjoy watching the slideshow

Thanks
