Default Install engine with long tubes

I've been reading on here for a couple years but just became a member. I'm getting ready to put a new(er) enging in my 2001 ecsb. Is it easier to install it with long tubes on or off. Lots of good info on here btw.

Well actually I'm sure it's easier to do with them off but how much of a pain is it with them on.

I installed my engine with the transmission and all of the acc on the engine, but the front end was off of the truck when the eng/trans was installed lol

LOL yeh that makes things just a bit easier. I found it easier to put the long block in, then bolt the accessories to it once it was bolted in..

I hope you could get it done in a weekend, lol. Hell me and a friend had mine out and the new one in in like 11 hours, completely ready to go, took a few beer and food breaks along the way..

Since I have a AC machine now this is how I'll be swapping engines from now on...so much EASIER to bolt up trans and converter on a stand rather than under the truck. I remove the grill and core support and leave fenders and hood on the truck.
