Default input on cam

im looking at a cam to put in my 2000 rscb silverado. current mods are 4.10 gears, tb stall, wait 4 me tune, 918 springs, vinci 062 cam, heads milled .030. im still running a stock 5.3 other than the heads and cam. the cam im looking at is a comp cam 232/232 .574 .574 on a 114 lsa. need input as to whether or not you think the cam will work in my truck. its a everyday driver, but i already have to run hi-test gas

Thats a Beafy cam to be putting in a 5.3. You would need a waaay looser converter to run it like you want it to run.

Id love to see that cam in a 5.3, but Beau is right IMO. Id get at least a 3200 converter to go with it, and plan to do some serious tuning to get it relatively streetable.

drop the lsa to 110 I think you can get by with that big a cam and a 2600 stall

why should i drop the lsa down so low? that would make it really hard to tune wouldn't it?

it would be hard to tune but if you arent doing the tuning then who cares how hard it is except for the fact you have a mail order instead of dyno... that is a pretty big cam for your relatively small converter... i too would go with at least a 3200 stall....i just ordered a 3200 stall to plan for my MTI c2 224/224 cam...

hahaa.... Would be a strong cam witha bigger converter like 3200, and it probably be pretty tuff to tune but it can be done...
