Default injector question

I swaped a 4.8 for an 01 LQ-4 6.0. Went to start it, and it wouldn't run. Check for spark, checked for signal to the injectors with a noid light and had signal, then I put a rag with gas on it over the air filter and it ran. So I swapped all 8 6.0 injectors for the 4.8 injectors and ran, where with the 6.0 injectors it wouldn't do anything. I searched this forum and am still not sure what injectors to run. I have (and please don't rag me too bad, I bought the parts before I found the forum) 6.0 with an 02 LS-6 cam and springs, short tube headers, true dauls no cats, CAI, Dialo tuner, 2200 stall verter. Will 4.8 injectors flow enough, or do I need something else? I would like to one day buy a bigger cam, some long tubes, and have it programed, but for now I just want to be able to drive it with out it running to lean.

The 4.8's won't work the 6.0L,it will run, but it will go lean @ WOT.. I think you could soak your 6.0 injectors in some seafoam & get them working again..

Has the tune been changed for the 6.0?

No, haven't changed the tune yet. I was going to drive it on the interstate tomarrow after work and log the data with the Preadator and look at the LTFT and try to tune it that way. I haven't driven it much, maybe 10 miles real easy.

I tried standing the 6.0 injectors up in a beer bottle, and then filled all of them with carb. cleaner, let'em soak about 2 hours, then tried blowing them out with compressed air and that didn't work. I would have never beleaved all 8 injectors would be stopped up.

I drove a couple of days with the 4.8 injectors on my 6.0 waiting on new injector gaskets.. Wouldn't throw a code till I went WOT on the 4.8 PCM. Change to 6.0 injectors & it was fine till I got my tune.. Only code I got till the tune was a multi cylinder misfire..

I know I've read where the 6.0 injectors are the same as the 4.8, and don't know it to be true, just remeber seeing it. I know that my 6.0 injectors have a diff. number on them, and I know the part stores want around $100 each for stock 6.0 injectors, after I heard that is when I put 4.8 in it. If I have to buy some, or have mine rebuilt, I'd like to leave some room to "grow" so to speak.

My buddy put his in a coffee can & just let them soak for a couple of days. I believe theirs a little screen in the inlet side too.. I've had to tap on them before to get them to start pulsating..

I wanted to take a big hammer to them, I tapped on them while having a buddy spin it after I tried cleaning them with the air and the gum out. I rinsed them out many time before I put them back on, real nasty yellow color stuff came out.

4.8 and 6.0 injectors are the same, 24.7#, so you will be fine with the 4.8 injectors. (unless your truck is a 99, then your injectors are 21#...as were all of the 99's)
