Injector duty cycle ??, can you get a hp idea

Just an update, I checked the log again, they actually went to almost 72% cycle WOW Not thats its a bad thing

you cant tell how much hp you are making but you can tell how much hp you could make with that much fuel.

first you have to get the actual flow of those injectors. you do that by taking the sqrt(new presure/old presure) x injector flow. thats sqrt(60/45) x 60 = 69.2lb/hr.

now you have to see how much fuel is going into your motor. flow x number of injectors x duty cycle. thats 69.2 x 8 x .72 = 398 lb/hr

now to get hp you take fuel flow / bsfc(brake spacific fuel consumption). rule of thumb is .50 na, .55 super charged, .60 turbo. 398 / .55 = 723fwhp.

soo, you are using about 723fwhp worth of fuel.

(65E) minus 15% for an average drivetrain loss would be about 615. Keep in mind there is a theory floating around that supposedly the truck drive train is a little more. So 575HP at the wheels I remember trying to figure out fueling load using bsfc...I completely forgot all about that. LOL

Damn I have to do a lil bit of reading, to up myself on this info, that is why I love this joint, you guys know your ****.. i am not looking for a exact number, just something in the general area... BTW i do have the flow numers for the injectors
