Info on Cast # 241 heads???
#1
I started a thread a while back concerning the 241 heads - LINK - , but didn't gather too much about them. I also used the search button, but found nothing.
I was wondering if there is any info out there like flow # / valve size / ect. to see if they are a nice upgrade over the 706s.
Btw, which trucks came equipped with them? I haven't come across one yet.

make a post over at ls1tech. just log in with the name your using right now. those guys WILL have the answers your looking for. theres not too much experience with the 241's over here on the truck side because they came on the 5.7 LS1's. you can probably find your answers in a search over there.

The #241 head was never installed in trucks. It was made for the 5.7l car engines. The #706 and #862 are heads that were made for the 4.8l and 5.3l trucks.
The intake and exhaust port cores are essentially the same. The biggest difference is in the intake ports seat and valve bowl transition. The #706 head has a 1.890" dia. intake valve and the #241 head has a 2.00" dia. valve.
The next major difference between these heads is the combustion chamber volume. The #241 has a chamber size of 67cc and the 5.3l heads have a chamber size of 61cc. Installing the #241 heads on a 4.8l or 5.3l engine will result in a loss of compression.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. Stupid ebay link said "2005 Chevrolet or GMC 5.3l V8 Cylinder Head" and threw me off.
How about the 799 cast number heads from the L33s. You guys have any info on those?? Heard they were very similar to the LS6s, but for a 3.78 bore. Any help appreciated.
