I had a customer come by my shop and ask to program his 05 silverado to extend his speed to over 100...it shuts down at 100..he said he ordered this truck with the 5.3 vortec high output combo...What is the difference between that motor and a stock 5.3??? can any programmer fix his 100 mph thing...thanks

Hyper-crap sells a programmer for the following:

2004-05 GM 4.3/4.8/5.3/6.0/8.1 4L60/4L80 (P/N: 30022)

I couldn't tell you if there's a difference b/t an H.O 5.3 or a stock 5.3 (don't think there is). However, a handheld will up his speed limiter from 98mph to 116mph, or 130mph (approx. values). Of course, they advertise that it's purpose is to up the limiter based on speed rating of tires.

Anyone else have anthing to add?

L33=HO 310HP,more compression better cam aluminum block ,different heads
LM7=295 HP iron block these are both 5.3s in 05
