Default I'm already thinking about modifying the Whipple....

OK...here goes

The Whipple comes with a boost-relief solenoid...it's an electrically operated compressor-bypass-valve correct ??, if that is the case why couldn't I use an adjustable aftermarket vacuum operated blow-off or compressor-bypass valve with the Whipple and get rid of that piece of the electronic mubo-jumbo?? (they ARE available FROM Whipple and others)...it seem that it would be MUCH more reliable/accurate and less prone to computer hiccups (GM NEVER has those though )

The FMU portion of the Whipple kit sucks it seems, what is the minimum injector size I would need to be able to rid myself of the FMU and associated electronic gadgetry ??....would the 8.1 injectors work or do I have to go bigger ??. OR, could a rising-rate fuel pressure regulator and a high-pressure boost-a-pump be used with the stock injectors...or is that just asking for trouble ??

The interior warning lights and other wierd **** can just stay in the box......a boost guage and fuel-pressure gauge are all I can see really needing, so there goes the final part of the Whipple computer system

I would like to end up with the compressor, intake hose, bracketry, and injector housing (sans injectors) as the ONLY parts of the Whipple kit that I use....is this possible ????

Yes. I am not sure how it is different, however I bet the mecanical bypass on the older Whipple kits will bolt right in place of the new solenoid controlled unit. Either way, just make sure that the bypassed air gets put back into the sc casing like stock. Otherwise metered air would be lost if you blow off to atmosphere, and tuning would be way off.

Could you use the aux Whipple injectors to inject a methanol, water combo for some cheap charge cooling using whipple stuff that is already there?

Probably not using the stock Whipple injectors.....but I bet that water/alky injectors could be installed into the Whipple injector housing without much hassle (THAT WAS my thinking behind wanting to keep the injector housing)
