Default idle?

I done a cam swap in nnbs 5.3 and i was wondering where to set my idle at in park/neutral and in gear?...right now i believe its around 450-500 rpms in park and a lil higher in gear. I just wanna get it close untill i can take it and get a professional tune...

As low as you can get it without it stalling on you. Hell I'd have my truck idle at 300 rpms if I could get it to run at that low of RPMS.

For a cam that small you should be able to get it down to 600. I have a 224/224 on 112 lsa and idle is set to 700

its just excessive RPMs being turned...yes, its a "safe" idle nonetheless, but there was no need in it when it idled perfectly at 600. just didnt see the absolute NEED for it.

50 more RPMs but what do I know? I dont drive an overcammed 4.8 so I lack credibility.

theres no need in adjusting the idle when it idled perfectly is my point. Its an "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" kind of thing IMO.
