Hey guys, i had a few questions i have a 2004 gmc sierra ext z71 on 33in tires 16 in rims , i have long tube headers, cai, cat back, vette servos, a new tr 220 cam on a 114 lsa, and a tune from nelsons performance . as far as i know the Torque management has been removed.
my questions are about my low end. the truck seems like its bogged down " held back" untill it his about 2500-2800 rpm " or 20-25 mph" then it takes off.
now i dont expect it to take off like crazy cuz i dont have a stall or nething. but i cant even break the tires loose if i hold down the breaks? Ive heard of sumthing called POWER ENRICHMENT? and was told its like a retard on the motor and that it makes it so u wount build alot of power till a certain point?
With that being said i was wondering what my options are. cuz it feels like its a tuning kinda thing down low? if its the case can i change it? or am i stuck? would u need me to get a wideband gauge or sumthin so i can logg some stuff for you guys? and also would it kill my tranny? thanks for the help ive just been after the issue awhile and idk rly what to do
. thanks for the help _ bryan

It is definatly not power enrichment causing your problem.. You have big tires, ?? on gears, is it a 4.8, 5.3, 6.0..?, and a cam thats more for mid to top end power. If you want a tire roaster you should have speced a cam for off idle and midrange power. A stall and 4.10s would help you a bunch. Maybe the tune need some adjusting and may potentially give you more WOT power. The addition of a wideband is a good idea and can further aid you or your tuner to get a more precision tune

ya its a 5.3 with 373 gears. the only weird thing is before with my " super chips" before i had my long tubers, i was running shorties and before the cam, i could spin 33's on 20's. and the truck just acts like its bogged down like under a heavy load from idle - 2500 rpm?

The cam & longtubes moved your power/torque band higher up in the rpm range. You make more power and tq, but at a higher rpm. You actually gave up a bit down low....
