Ideal Temp for the 5.3's

Looking to find the sweet spot for 5.3's,is 160 to little,whats the operating range for the best performance?

For the engine 160 will yield best performance. 190-195 will give you the best mpg.

putting in a 160 t-stat won't make it run at 160, just makes the water flow in better at 160. It will still reach into the 180's if all your changing is the t-stat and not doing anything to make it cool better.
