Default I want to tune my truck

I have a laptop, can i just download a program (like ls1 edit) to run on it and then drive and log the parameters and adjust them? just follow the directions from the (how to tune) section in the tuning threads? I am way new to this type of hot roding so i am not familiar with the differnt programs available

No you have to pay for the program to work. Not to mention you need a cable to connect your laptop to the truck. LS1edit(no logging), hptuners, flashscan (did I miss any others?) do this, but they cost a pretty penny.
