4.8L is what's killing it. that's hardly enough cubes for a truck.

Needs more displacement. 4.3 v-6 is .5 less thatn athe 4.8. The 4.8 is .5 less than the 5.3. Big difference. Even withe the two cylinders missing, tThe 4.8 is just too small

Go directly to cammotion.com to get a cam from them. And yes, that GM part has very close specs....I would consider that one as well.

Don't have the dyno sheets, they are on a web site, all I have are the raw DynoJet files and my computer's acting up right now....

I think you're going to like it....

I have a lady on ebay trying to sell me a set of springs from a brand new set of LS6 heads for $70. Will these springs work on my 4.8? Are they direct replacements?

I'd buy them new (GM P/N 12565117), you can get them for ~$5.50 each, or $88 for all 16 of them. Springs are too important to be messing with used or unknown.

Alternatively, I ran across this part (GM P/N 12499224) that might actually be a kit containing all 16 LS6 springs. If someone can verify the part number....it's only $44.80.

Naked AV,

Tell me all about your cam. Where is the true power at (rpm)?
I have 3.73 gears in the back. Are you still in CA? If so does your truck pass smog with the new cam?

The power is from 600 RPM's all the way to 6000 RPM's, when my driveshaft likes to come apart.

Seriously, the power is all over. And yes, I'm in CA, but there will be no problem passing smog, though I don't have to do it until 2008.

I did a part number search and I am glad you are on here. I can order them from my dealer for 2/3rds her cost. Thanks! So did you put the cam in and then the blower?
