Best part of the cam install was the off-idle power....'holy shit' is the best way to describe my reaction. I am very happy with it.

Naked, do you have the dyno sheets?

Alternatively, there is a GM part number (12574519) with almost the same specs, and costing around $250: 204/211, .520/.520, 116

Would this cam be good for my 5.3L? Where can i get a cam motion cam? Also the alternative GM cam, would that be a good stealthy cam that will make decent power?

Im in the same boat as Suddog. Would the Comp 206/212 .551/.522 112 cam and a trailblazer verter be a good combo?

Suddog 08-27-2005 05:03 PM

the 206/212 cam doesn't need a verter to the best of my knowledge. But It would help you take off a bit faster.

The alternative cam is from a SSR which is an LS6 cam which will not be a direct swap for your cam. You would have to move the cam sensor and then change the chain and stuff under the chain cover to ls2 parts. All this is to the best of my knowledge.

www.cammotion.com is where I found the info on their cams. :drive:

Ok guys I went with Kim Allens' Cam Motion Camshaft. Now comes the hard part...putting it in. Anyone know of someone trying to get rid of a set of LS6 or 918 springs?

Damn, I should have checked this yesterday, I have something I think you would have liked. I had the 206/212 on a 112lsa with +4*. Anyway, I think a tb stall would really help it. my times went down with the cam a little, but my MPH went up a good bit. Anyone else looking for a similar performance cam pm me.

How much compression does the 4.8L have? 9.0 to 1? Thats probably whats killing the torque, not enough compression. Should be 10.7 to 1 like the z06.
