Default I need help

Hey guys, i'm from Houston, Texas. I want to install a cam. i own a 2004 silverado 5.3 ext cab. I don't know which one too pick? But I don't want to change the converter. My first choice is XR265HR 212/218 .558/.563. or XR265HR 212/218 .522/.529.
If anyone has installed these cams, I would really like to know if you liked the cam? well i notice a differences?
And what else do i need, for my truck to perform good.

Thanks BC.

basically those are the same cams with high and low lift versions. IMO with either of those you should change your converter at least to a trailblazer stall but it can be done without it. also i would go with the higher lift version, .558/.563 but you will need stiffer springs and that will add another 160$ to your bill. yes you will notice differences in idle, low end with that cam. along with the springs, it'll be a good idea to get some pushrods. 7.4" should do the trick for you. and you will need a custom tune. be forwarned, no hypercrap handheld. the closest thing to a hand held that you should get is an ODB scanner or wideband controller. dyno tune, street tune or even mail in tune with that cam you shouldnt have too much problem getting it dialed in. others who have either of these im sure will chime but thats just a start... are you doing the install or havin a pro? and finally, what other mods do you have?

eff the hypercrap and get a real tune. go with the highlift version if you are set on those two options. i dont want to re-read my last post to see if i need to reiterate anything so ill let the guru's chime in

If you want to keep some bottom end you'll need a different TC...

If i go with the XR265HR 212/218 .558/.563., i need to purchase springs (26918-16), pushrods (7955-16), and retainers, should i buy. steel or titanium, what else should i buy for my truck to perform right.

personally i would say forget the retainers. you dont really need them and its more money that could be spend elsewhere. yea you would need the comp918s and some 7.4" hardened rods too. if you feel like you need the retainers, get titanium. if you are spending the money you might as well get the better, lighter ones. you should also look into longtube headers. a converter would be fun to have. performing "right" will never be reached, you'll always need something more after you start
