Default I was just wondering...

now that I've gotten my truck sitting and riding exactly the way I want it, and the alignment is perfect, do you think that when I do the 6.0 swap, the extra 60 or 70 pounds of the LQ9 is gonna bring the front down a little more? Forcing me to crank the t-bars a turn or two and re-align it? Or am I just being **** and paranoid?

I know that when I put a 40lb toolbox in the bed it comes down...but that's a completely differnt suspension in the rear...

whaddaya think?

The weight difference between you 5.3 and 6.0 is not 70lbs. The weight difference is negligable as far as your front suspension is concerned. That is assuming you have an iron block 5.3.

Yep, I have an iron block 5.3...any idea what the weight difference is? I thought is was kinda heavy due to the thicker rods and basically the entire rotating assembly.

It should be within a few lbs of what the 5.3 weighs.

The beefier components may weight more, but keep in mind there is more material from the block missing cause of the bigger bore.

I bet it isn't a 10 lb. difference. Don't even worry about it, you'll be fine. Your truck is definately sitting right now, in my opinion. Those wheels look 1million times better, it's like you got a new truck.

I'd bet the 6.0 actually weights VERY slightly LESS than the 5.3 because of the bigger cylinder bores....the extra weight of the piston isn't going to offset the removal of the extra cast iron from the cylinder bores. AFAIK the rest of the 6.0 rotating assembly weights within grams of the 5.3 rotating assembly...either way don't worry about it, filling your washer fluid adds more weight than this swap will net you
