Pumps probally no good. Should be like 45 or 50 psi at idle. When you pull the regulator it should go rich and increase pressure up wards by 5 to 10 PSI. With out seeing the vehical or being able to work on it make sure the pressure is not bleading off through a stuck open injector. on My 454 suburban i had 3 stuck/ cloged injectors in the closed position. I had to pull them out, and energize them, then blow air through them. the 3 stuck ones had brown deposits around the tiny little holes. carb or break cleaner and air pressure cleaned them right out. make sure you wear safety googles and point away from you... I ended up with one shoting the remaining gas down my shirt. I get you some pic's to night from my truck. I am on my way to work....

Inline pump aint goin to help ya.. look for a intank Walbro 255..
when you pulled the vacuum line off the Regulator the Fuel Pressure should jump up to 58-62#.. no gas is goin to come out of the line.
I remember somebody posted a link to Walbros for $86... that will be your best bet!
Just get the new fuel pump in and that should take care of all the problems your having.

the reason your gettin that dead spot @ 3000 rpms,is because that's all the fuel your pump can supply..
I'm not sure about the Oil pressure issue.. what filters are you using? when I used to use the cheap filters it would take a second to get pressure. I use all Wix filters now and get instant oil pressure no matter the temp. and I use Mobil 1 5W30

Well **** i just was at summit and bought a walbro 255 inline pump are you sure it wont do a thing for me? Also pulled the vaccum line off the regulator without any change in fuel pressure it stayed around 30 psi... Im using a fram oil filter and Rotella T 15w-30 oil for the 500 mile break-in of the motor, i usually use mobil 1 5w-30 i think the problem getting the oil pressure is within the lack of fuel during startup as it stutters to a start.

With pressure that low,the engine is not getting the fuel it needs under a load, that would explain the lean condition
I have had that happen before and cause missfires bad.
New pump and regulator and it fixed it.
This is just me,but if I ever put a new pump in I always put a new regulator also
the pump supplies the volume,if the volume is not there it will run lean.

check your Fuel pressure regulator, its easy to do. take the vacuum line off of the intake, put it in a empty bottle, start it up. if you have fuel in the bottle you have a bad FPR. I dont know about your oil pressure. good luck..
