Hypertech Tuning Is In On My 2000 5.3....Pretty Cool So Far
#1
Just added the Hypertech today on my truck. My only other mods are a Gibson single out catback.
So far I am pleased. Not that I had a problem before with lighting the tires up with my Z71 but today it just completely ripped 'em through an intersection and then proceeded to chirp the 1-2 shift....that put a smile on my face. I haven't checked too many other things since it was a short ride home from work, but I plan to tonight.
It's hard to tell how close I am getting to the rev limit. I set that to 6K and the 1-2 shift at +3. The truck is actually back to shifting where it used to on the tach before I installed the exhaust. It shifts right there, sometimes I feel the tq mgmt kick in and sometimes I don't.
Anyway, I guess I'll play with the shifts and maybe the rev-limit a bit but so far it seems to have made a nice difference, even down low where the truck was really lacking grunt. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
