Looks like I sold my HppIII, but the main reason I was using it was to correct my tire height and gear. My tires are only 1" shorter than stock, so I know the speedo and odometer will run faster, but how will running the stock PCM program affect my 373 gear (stock was 342). Anything else that will be affected? I'm finally breaking down and gonna pony up the cash for LS1Edit. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

 

the lower rear end will also cause the speedo to read faster than you are going, causing different shift point (not that bad) and your top speed limiter will cause you problems if you are going to be cruising a little fast. Before I sold my HHP I had a buddy download the settings in his laptop, then I put the stock program back and sold the HHP, then downloaded the old settings from his laptop. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

 

faster than gum how did you do that? was it with ls1 edit or what?

1. load HPP on yur truck's computer
2. use LS1edit to read the programming and save it
3. remove the HPP from the truck
4. re-program (using the LS1edit) the HPP programming you saved earler

 

look im new to this sight and all the trucks and ls1 evrything what is the LS1EDIT please expalin and what does it do

 

LS1Edit is editing software that allows you to modify EVERY aspect of yur truck's computer. it requires a laptop to use. i can do much more than hypertech but is also more involved (not reccommended for ameteurs). it also costs quite a bit more than hypertech (i think $550?) unless you get the multi-VIN version that gives you 4 VIN#s
