HPPIII
Got a question...
I am going to purchase an HPP3 to get rid of the limiter...
But, for the tuning I have read everywhere that it has to be used with 93 octane gas...
around here we just have 87, 89, & 91... would that work with 91 octane gas??? or do i have to keep looking for 93???

Re: HPPIII
Yes the truck HPP III has tuning options. I have mine set at 93, but I may through in a few bucks of 87 every now and then just to get where I'm going. Then I'll fill up with the good stuff. It should be fine with 91. You can use the 93 option in your area when you want, just get some 104 octane booster(if they sell it there) when you play hard. If you notice knocking, take it back down to the RFG setting.

Re: HPPIII
These results were obtained on 93 octane tuning and 91 Octane pump gas (Chevron/Texaco).
The Hypertech tuning is conservative enough to use on 91. I have even sprayed (100 RWHP) on the Hypertech tuning with no detonation/lean conditions.

The truck HPP3 has two tuning settings, one for 87 octane and one for 93.. I would say the 93 tuning will work fine with 91 octane but I would leave the screen in and run a 160 t-stat..
You can run the 87 octane, save some gas money and still get great performance from the hpp3. Most of your ET gains come from raised shift points, higher rev limitor and quicker shifting tranny. Its all a trade off but one good thing is the hpp3 gives you the options.. Are you in a 87 octane mood or a 93 octane mood.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
