HPP3, LS1 heads and other questions...

simple one first...on an 01 6.0, is there any real benefit to the HPP tuning or shift point changes?
now, the 6.0 heads are 70cc chamber D-Port head. any benifit to just throwing on some stock 60cc LS1 or LS6 heads? obviously a CR increase is there...but is it worth the trouble?
TIA

Brooke can vouch for the 6.0L and the HPP3. but to tell you now....he got some good gains from it.
As for the heads....the 6.0L head is almost identical to the LS6 head. the difference being the c.chambers. So you could benefit from dropping on some stock LS6 heads in the form of a higher compression ratio. But I think it would be a better idea and worth the money to just do some minor port work to the 6.0L head and mill it down some to get the compression up. Otherwise the LS6 head wont fit up to the larger bore of the 6.0L. Not a dramatic thing, but one that I would still note IMO.

i see what your saying about the bore/chamber thing....but ponder this...if i took a 6.0 head and milled it .030-.040 (which still wouldnt give a 60cc chamber aa .006= ~1 cc difference) i would encounter the same issue for the most part. think of it like this...the "sides" of the chamber that give it the depth are very likely not 90' angles to the plug/valve area...so by milling the chamber (is diameter/circumference) would get smaller no matter what you do. did i make that clear at all? now, cost is a different story, ls6 heads bare (id just throw in stock 01 valves and keep the other 6.0 stuff) are about 800 bucks here lately. how much would a decent valvejob and mill run?
