How much will a 15-20 mph head wind hurt at the track?

I went to the track tonight and it was windy, at least a 15-20 mph head wind. This was not a breeze, when you walked into it, you could feel it pushing against you and the flag was standing straight out. In my truck I could feel my truck buffeting past the 1/8 mile, I could really feel it. My times were 15.61 to 15.48, each run got better as it cooled down. I won my first race by a pretty good margin but decided to leave. It was already 8:00 and they stop at 10:00, I didn't want to wait another hour to hour and a half for one more run. There was no way they were going to finish and get a winner, so I left. Our trucks have the aerodynamics of a rolling brick, I wonder how much the wind hurt. My 60" times were in the 2.3-2.4 range, but I could see on the time slip that my time and speed was bad on the high end. Wind?

Hey dude, not sure about how the weather is in CA, but here in TX it has been hot and humid lately, which sucks for racing. I bet the wind would slow you down a little bit though.

I am not sure about running into a head wind in a truck, but on my bike, a 15 mph headwind WILL kill about 1-2 mph and 1-2 tenths. I would imagine on a a big, non-aerodynamic truck it would easily kill 2-3mph and a tenth or two. Not to mention heat and humidity will kill a mph or two.
