Default How many CFM do I need?

I dont want to buy one of those high dollar dual fan set ups. When you can go buy 2 fans and everything needed for the install for 1/3 of what they cost. But my question is how many CFM's do I need to have to keep my 6.0 cool while towing?

I run the big Flex-a lite setup and I've been very pleased.A lot of 1/2 ton trucks are running fans from a Camero but for a heavy truck or a Tahoe like mine I don't think I would chance not having enough cooling.

4500+ CFM....., A pair of 16" swept-blade fans should provide that easily.......
You can fab custom brackets for the fans from aluminum barstock and use threaded rod and turnbuckeks to tighten everything down....

I'll post pics when mine is done....

If you want to tow and stuff I wouldn't settle for anything less than the Flex-a-lite 282's. You already have the radiator to put them on and they flow something like 5500+CFM. They are some bad ******.

Yeah but damn! That price tag is high. Something like $400 bones. When you can go buy 2-14 inch Perma cool High performance fans, mounting and wiring kit for $200 and get 5900 cfm's.

Why you asking then :p if you can get 5900CFM for $200. Sounds like a damn good deal to me.

With the flex-a-lites I think you pay a little extra for the completeness of the kit and the stock looking setup.

I know, I was just messing around. I know 5500CFM works so anything over that is fan-tastic.

I run singel fans on both my drag car and my truck.

On my drag car I run a 'Black Magic' from flex-a-lite. I have no cooling problems with that fan and the NASCAR radiator.

My truck had a singel fan with a large built in shroud on it. I found it in a wreaking yard on an old big block Camero. The singel fan on the truck does a good job of cooling the truck so far but weve only had a few days over 100 to really test it.

My fans only flow like 1750 and have had no problems out of it, with a 160* stat. I am thinking of going bigger though just for the hell of it, I don't like to worry if my truck is going to overheat or not. I have had the fans for about a year now and am going to Florida in three weeks, that will be a good test.
