i think i want it, it's got this really small super 40 muffler, and i love the flowmaster sound. i know it doesn't flow quite as good as magnaflow's, or corsa's, etc.... but right now, 3 hp isn't important to me. i want sound.

If ur talking about the 40 series... they sound pretty good and as most exhaust systems.. these get better with age. Sounds like its bigger than it really is.. if that makes any sense.

I have this setup on my truck, its pretty loud. You will defenitly notice it on the highway under load, or whenever you floor it. It sounds real nice at idle, but could be a bit louder IMO. It does pop a bit when your coasting above 1500 RPM too, which I'm not crazy about, so I usually drop it into OD coasting down hills. Also to note- I had to modify the hangers on the kit, it was too close to the driveshaft. I used a torch to bend the hangers to pull the muffler away from the exhaust. I have a pic of it here http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mike_d...lbum?.dir=mail

I have a 40 series and it sounds great to me and it is loud under load. It does have a bit of interior resonance and my trim panel under the rear window vibrates in a certain load range.

If you like the sound, get it. The super 40 mufflers supposedly flow better than other flowmasters, but who knows. I think the kit looks nice on a whole and isn't very expensive.

I have the system, its called the American Thunder Muscle Truck system. It uses the super 40 muffler. The muffler does have a real nice sound thats not really loud under a normal load, but when you step on it you hear it.

The install was really easy no modifications at all with my kit , had it installed in and hour and a half. I've had it on for about 6 months now and am very happy with it.

Just to chime in, I have the 40 series as well on my truck. It is the 3" in-3" out with a turn down right at the back of the muffler. It is fairly quiet at a light, but it has a great sound beyond that. At 1,200 RPM going about 40 or 45 down the road it has a super low hum that I love. At WOT, it comes to life like a bitter grizzly bear. The rattling of the trim pieces happened with mine, too, but oh well.

I would go with this instead of a dump before the axle, not sure which way he was talking about doing it.
