Ok, I'm not going to get this moved to the lounge <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> so......
parish8 - did you try the solid timing across the board?

No that's Ok. I'll take your word for it. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> How 'bout we just call a truce. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
I've heard it mentioned before that all the available tables in the PCM may not be accessible with Edit so maybe there is an "adder" table in the PCM that adjust timing based on different conditions that we can't see? Kind of like the IAT vs. MAP timing adjustment table. We could call it the "X" Factor timing adjustment table. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
I don't see any other thing that would affect timing like that. Are both you guys running stock screened MAFs?

Stock screened MAF for me too.
My thought is that there is another factor that should be added to the formula to solve that timing table. How about MAP? I know the PCM uses MAP when it has other sensor failures.
Fact is, when I solve for my logged values, timing is always higher - like I'm modifying the wrong cells.

Well, that takes the MAF causing crazy load calcs outta the equation. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />
It has to be something in the computer that is not in EDIT. That IAT vs. MAP timing adjustment table couldn't be the cause of your problems Tex because all the values that are in it are negative. That's the only adder table I see that deals with timing.
I'm going to log some stuff on my truck tomorrow and then edit the tables and see what happens.

I always had so much Knock that I don't know what my timing should have been. But after I added the KO Box, which basically shut off my knock sensors, my timing is higher than the stock values. Parish8 has resistors in his knock sensor lines, so he is doing something similar.
Jim - I have an autotap log where I had 0 KR on my whipple. My timing should have been upwards of 20*s according to my timing tables, but I only logged about 15*.

You know the other day I looked at a EDIT file from a truck with the HPP3 87 and stock timing. Then looked at the difference between the two. All the cells from .32+ for all rpms were changed +2 degrees over stock. Some of the lower rpm higher gms/cyl cells were way different. I loaded the 87 octane table in place of my 93(+4) octane table and it did lower my timing 2 degrees but, my timing is still higher than the corresponding cell should be by using that formula above.
From now on I'm just going to adjust all the cells that the HPP3 does. It seems to work.

I ran into the same problem when i had my whipple on my truck. It also proceeded to happen on my buddies camaro when i was adjusting his timing. The conclusion i cam up with is it really doesnt change unless you change the hole cell of that rpm. This seemed to work for me. Parish, I gained about 2 trucks of difference off the line just from adding 8 deg. of timing from 0-2800 rpm. As soon as it hit 2800 i backed off the timing slowly to -4 deg at 6200. "From the factory timing table". I also had 8;1 comp.
I dont know what model kit you have, but i completely disconected the whipple computer and ran a good set of injectors on the intake. When i was down at whipple they said that 15 deg. is where the blowers makes really good hp. If your motor can take it 16 is pushing it.
Ls1 edit seems to combine cells as far as what i have seen from experiance.
