<img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Hi Guys!
Okay I know this sounds stupid but How DO I get the Why Pipe off my 2002 Silverado with 5.3 Engine. I have gotten a Y-pipe without Cats that I want to install.
I have got all the bolts off the exhaust manifolds and everything is loose but I cant see anyway of getting it out without removing the transmission Supports.
Any Suggestions <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

on my truck i unbolted it and it came off, seems like i had to puch the rest of the exhaust back alittle then slide the back part over to an open area then it droped right out, front first. maybe your truck is diferent than mine.

Just like parish said. You might have to jack the front up some if you have a 2wd, I took mine off to change the transmission fluid. Where do you get these off road Y pipes for the trucks at?

If you got all the fasteners on the header or exhaust manifold and the flange going into the muffler and all 4 connectors removed from the O2 sensors it should come off. You may have to loosen the cat-back a litte to get the needed wiggle room to get the tail end of the Y pipe started out. If there is a transmission support in the way you should place a jack or jackstand under the transmission to help support it while the support member is removed to get the Y pipe out. It should be pretty obvious if a support needs to be removed. Who made your Y pipe? Does it have bungs for O2 Sims? How much do it cost?

Thanks Guys for all the help!
I took and order a Y-pipe with the converters on and had the cats cut out and welded two pieces of pipes in the place of the cats.
I ordered the Y-pipe from Brahasington CHEVY in gainsville Florida for 437.00 the cheapest I found anywhere on GM Parts.
I still have my original with cats just in case I have to take my truck in for Service.
Now I want to ask you all a question on oil in my intake on my truck.
I have put a clear inline gas filter inline with my PVC Valve and I found why my truck smokes after it idles for a while because of this.
While idling I saw this about a 1/4 ounce of oil had collected in the clear inline filter. It took about 30 minutes of idling for this to happen and this is with the updated PVC Valve. A pvc valve with the ball in it is not as bad as the updated one.
HOW LONG AFTER I PUT IN THE INLINE FILTER WILL IT TAKE FOR MY INTAKE TO DRY OUT AND MY TRUCK STOP SMOKING.
Thanks Lee!
