if you clean the shaft and clean the bore of the crank pulley and add some graphite, you shouldnt have any problems seating the pulley properly, i use my impact to run the pulley up, first i get it started, i set the impack to the lowest setting, then gradually increase torque and the pulley is going on, i do it numerous times without issues
hows the belt line up to the other pulleys? thats one way of verifing if the pulley is all the way on

i used a 1inch longer bolt, then swapped to the factory bolt..its not moving the pulley any farther.

Is the pulley stopping or is the bolt screwed up and not wanting to turn anymore? Some people have no problem using that method and I myself used it several times until I screwed up the threads in the crank and trashed a crankshaft. Ever since then I've used an install tool and never had a problem.

well, long story short, long bolt bottomed out, chewed threads, ran tap through the the threads cleaned it up ..and now it just gets really tight and wont turn.

Does the bolt screw out easy or is it slow coming out with an impact?

owe man this isnt good... i usually clean it really well and put some never seize on it.. tap it lightly until you can reach it with a longer bolt.. then install new bolt....

i got it..i didnt run the tap down far enough..cleaned up the threads..and put the pulley in the oven at 400 for 15 min..it slid right on with my hands. i highly recommend heating up the pulley. now i just gotta take for my computer to get and my cam swap will be complete.
