how do you line the flywheel holes up?

Default how do you line the flywheel holes up?

i just swapped converters and i cant get the converter to spin around so i can line the holes up with flywheel holes. is there a secret to this or should i have tried to line them up before i bolted the bellhousing to the block? help1

Sounds like you saved yourself from a bigger problem....you should be able to spin the converter freely by hand. If you cant, then the converter is not seated properly

Aggreed, if it won't spin freely you have it wrong.

thats what i thought, i was trying to wrestle it onto the jack by myself so i wonder if it slid off of the seat. i guess ill have to pull the trans back off tomorow

There is actually a clearance that needs to be there. Wouldn't hurt to measure next time.

Well it depends on the converter...is the shaft of the verter (the end that goes INTO the crank) painted!?!? If its painted then it makes the fit VERY tight and almost impossible to spin by hand. Push the vert back into the tranny so its away from the flexplate and crank, use sand paper to get the paint off the shaft, then slide it back forward again and it should spin freely

i ended up geting the converter to slide in more, then it spun freely. it was just hard since there is so little room to get ur hands in there.

Did the flex plate put pressure on the converter during installation? I wonder if you could still have pump damage..
