Default How do i get the motor, tran & transfer case out

Whats the easiest way to remove the motor, trans & transfer case.

I have a 4 post lift and cherry picker and a well tooled up garage.

Do i

1) All together

2) Remove the transfer-case only and the motor & trans out the top.

3) Remove the transfer-case & trans out the bottom & motor out the top.

And does everyone remove the core support or just the radiator.

thanks for the help, I'm swapping motors from a 1999 silverado z71 5.3 & 4l60e for a 2000 6.0 & 4l80e and adding a 76mm turbo and putting the 5.3 into a 1993 jeep wrangler and haven't ever pulled a motor from a late model truck that has the motor sitting so far under the dash / crowl.

thanks
Stacy

I prefer pulling the t-case & trans out the bottom, and the engine out the top. Esp when you have access to a lift & tranny jack, etc.

I've done it as one assembly before, will try to find pics. It is much easier to do it as AKlowrider says though, you have to disassemble the entire front end of the truck to pull them as one unit.

I was surprised it worked, the load leveler was a bitch to move too since it was jammed up against the arm of the picker.
