Default How about starting a Sticky Cam Post?

How about a Sticky cam post?

Differant comninations, although many here are usually 2wd street strip trucks
but also daily driver 4wd.

5.3 NA "with listed mods", 2wd,4wd, stall, gears, use, tires etc.....
5.3 Turbo
5.3 S.C.

same for 6.0 and 4.8

What do you Think?

what are you thinking, just kind of a owners observations kind of thing? like "ran without tuning" or "very lumpy" stuff like that? or more tech stuff?

I'm thinking of variuos posts I have read saying, if I could I would do this diferant or....I really like this cam... or basically ideas of cam specs not yet done. Kind of a wish list.
Such as a post for someone to look out for recomendations.

In my case, comparing cams that would be for a Sierra denali in basically stock trim as opposed to my Step side with 4.10's 28" tall tires and a built Tranny/3000 stall or a daily driven z71 looking for some more power.

I remeber BigTex or someone else, I can't remeber who posting a link to a spread sheet with a whole list of Fbody cams and what mods they would respond with.
I thought we could take that or something like a displayed in the comp catalog and here comments on them.

I think the majority here know what they want now as far as bolts ons, headers, intake, stall etc,, but cams selection can get confusing,

.......Like another site I saw has?

They have a list of cams in the first post, in what looks like a small Excel spreadsheet. They're all linked to short reviews or thoughts from the owners, which are posted within that thread.

As long as there's no copyright, I'd like to see it.

I've got a ton of cam questions, so I vote yes.

I think that this would be important information. I certainly went to a lot of research before I selected my Comp Cam. I'm very pleased with the cam I have selected and have tried to do several write-ups on the cam, it's installation, etc. to share the knowledge.

Maybe some one has some predictive software for cams (like that that Comp developed) and could run the theoritical torque/HP curves for various cams versus stock. The results may not be exactly accurate, but they would be useful for comparison.

That comparo would take forever on a program but yeah I vote for a sticky. I was going to go with a 00 FBod cam but now I am thinking I want some lope and good power with tuning. Now that I have a transgo and billet servo's coming, just want to make the best of it. Still want a little mileage, but a little more go too. This would make research a ton easier.
