Default Hooker headers or cam

I was wondering what to do first. Im gonna get a tr cam and a dyno tune, but i was wondering if i should get the headers first. When i get the cam ill have to get a tune purd quick. If i dont have the headers on, will it alter the dyno tune? JW if i need to do headers first, then cam and tune, or cam and tune then headers.
Thanks,
Derek

Headers will compliment the cam and tune.It really doesn't matter what order you install them in,but the tune will need to be updated with the cam,so I would probably go with the cam and tune first.

if you have the money, do both... if not, then it doesnt matter what order. Like everyone said, they will both help each other. I did my cam first and then the headers. Reason why was because the cam was cheaper to do for me lol

Youll end up spending all your money alone on just the headers. The Hookers arent cheap for what they are.

My reason for not getting a cam first has been the fact that to put in a good cam, you will need to get tq converter as well. With the 220, from what everyone says, you will need about a 3000 stall, so you might want to figure that into the equasition as well.

Default WIll the headers alter tune

What im saying is do i need the headers on when i do the tune? Will it effect the tune in any way or does the tune just involve engine stuff, you know? I know they will compliment the cam, but will the tune suffer from no headers?

I would put on the headers. Then install the cam and get a tune. In that order. You can drive around with headers and not adjust the tune. Once the cam goes in you will need a tune right away. Why make 2 trips to the dyno? The headers will help the cam, yes. So, put them on and time and $$ willing add the cam and tune. Get Pacesetter LT's. Cheaper and just as nice from what I understand.

rule of thumb.... get the most mods you can on the truck before you tune it.

headers wont affect daily driving that much like a cam(depending on size of cam that is). If you get a cam, then you will have it tuned for that cam and no headers. Then once you get headers on, you will have to get it tuned again for them sinc emost headers make the pcm dump more fuel making the truck run rich.

try to get both if you can, then retune.... nelson does 3 free programs per year
