Honest Opinions Replacing 4.8 with 6.0 is a cam swap worth the extra cash for D.D.?

I have an 03 ECSB ˝ ton with a 4.8 3.42s…picked up a 6.0 with 317 heads had 12k miles on it and want a good daily driver with power of course. I really don’t want to stress out the drive valve train / tyranny or get radical. I know that the difference from a 4.8 to 6.0 will be noticeably in power or at least torque increase I was juts wondering if the 4-5 bills is really worth going to a small cam just for some extra power… is it really a noticeable /huge difference in power going just going to a little bigger cam say comp cams extreme truck or the like?? . Don’t really want to go to a stall but I will obviously have to get a tune…I have done a tone of research and keep going back and forth....giong to keep stock 4.8 exhaust if I can as well other then a magna flow cat back system…Honest opinion guys it really worth it with the 6.0?????

Get the Cam and save your self some time and money since the block is out of the truck.
Just think about it!! If you tune it now for the stock block your going to need to tune it again when you swap a cam = more money and time wasted. Just do it before the swap and get it tuned once.

its not worth IT!! unless you get the supporting mods for which ever cam you choose, a smaller cam wont need awhole lot of anything, BUT i would sugguest if you get any cam i would get a better exhaust sytem like long tube headers to help the cam and heads beather. dont worry about a cat back system your stock Y pipe and all would be fine .

You will notice a difference without any supporting exhaust or intake modifications. You'll spend more money on the other modifications and won't really feel it. You can tell a cam is there....

I run the 216/220 in my 5.3 and could tell the difference even before I tuned for it. Well worth it and should net you the extra torque without being so big that you NEED a stall. Sure, a small stall does help it, but not a necessity.
If you decide to upgrade the trans later or if it gives up on you, then pick you up a Circle D 2800-3200 stall and that will help you out a lil more.
I daily drive mine with both said mods 100 miles a day and still get the same mileage I got when it was stock. Even with 4.30 gears.
