Default High Oil Pressure

Getting some abnormally high oil pressure recently. Normally I cold start at about 55-60 psi and then I am cruising at 65 psi max, normally like 60 though I think. Yesterday and today I started up the truck and get the same idle psi but whenever I hit the gas I start climbing. 2k RPMs and I am probably hitting 80 psi and randomly I will go past it.
Now the weird thing is that at some point in my drive I drop back down to 1k RPMs and I will get oil pressure to normal levels, revving it up it will stay normal until like 50+ MPH and then it is back to high.
Just changed the oil, 5W-30 Mobil 1 and the tall AC Delco filter. Aftermarket pressure sensor, about a month ago I would randomly peg out to like 100 PSI and then drop back down. Just seemed like the sensor was going bad but maybe that was a sign.

Any thoughts? I think I am going to change the filter first.

Mine resently (2 months ago) started doing that too....changed the oil because it was time and it still got higher and higher, now it stays maxed out at 80psi.....the pressure sensor is bad....R&R, you should be good after that. its a common problem with these trucks. videos all over the net about it. My sensor has about 250k miles on it....so its about time.

edit: ive gotten bad sensors in the past out of the box, store brand stuff....got a acdelco sensor now, once i have time to replace it we'll see what happens after that. Try resetting your cluster, just remove it for a while, could also be the stepper motor in the cluster.

i dont know about the 6.2 but the 6l80 is a hell yeah thing. I'm still on the fence about the 6l80 swap.....maybe once i get all the supercharger parts in and the t56 gets blown to pieces....then i'll do it.

I want it but I need to go back over Arthur's stuff about it. If I can keep it looking factory in the cab and working like factory.

Probably a bad sender mine went bad as soon as I installed the 408. Did a oil pressure relocation near power steering pump, f taking off my charger and associated brackets to change that bastard...

Driving home today it was all over the place so I think it is that. Ordered one should be here tomorrow.

Weirdly got a low coolant light though so very strange. No smoking and no leaks that I can see.
