Theres a reason for having two different tables for high and low, from what Im learning it makes sense that the high is as high as the timing will go and the low as low as it can possibly go. Im thinking there is some formula the pcm uses when it detects knock or some other conditions are met (which is what im trying to figure out) sort of an average with several factors combined like intake temp, collant temp, knock etc....

For tuning purposes making the two tables the same is fine but I wouldnt drive it like that suppose you get some bad gas or something overheats then the pcm has no where to go and BANG youve just made a good reason to buy that 383 stroker.

Talking

when yopu copy and paste the tables the high end rpm's are what is changed the most. if you run into some bad gas you will have to keep her out of the top end till you get some octane boost or some more fuel. i have been running my truck like that for over a year and only ran into bad gas twice.

I don't do mine own tuneing but I am running 34* and go up to 36*of timing and I run 87 octane when I am going to the track I put some 93 in and some times I put 100 when I get their. My knock sensors are deleted so I don"t get any knock to take timing out.

Knock Learn can be disabled, just set Knock learn min RPM to something like 7000rpm.

I sure hope that isn't at WOT.

Mine is at 24*. I either run all 93 or a mix of 93 and 87 or 89. I seldom got WOT anyway. I was wondering what max timing I could run and use straight 87 or 89 - generally speaking.
