Default high flow oil pump

Is it worth the cost of a high flow oil pump? I was reading an article and I think they just put a spacer in the spring and that was good enough.

Yes you can buy the shim also but why not go to homedepot and buy a little chunk of metal and put it in there use a dremel tool and port the intake and exit of the pump yourself would take all of 30min to do and clean.
