TSP recommended it, so I took their word for it, they said in 6.0 and 5.3 its a pretty relaxed and discrete cam, and in the 4.8 it is more aggressive but does a good job of waking it up. We shall see.

hahaha, a 220/220 110lsa discrete in a 5.3

No.

That’s a decent amount of overlap in a 5.3, let alone a 4.8.

regardless they recommended it haha, I was initially looking at 224r but that was definitely to big. The 220 will be just fine for a little street truck, should bring the power in pretty quick and keep a relatively consistent power curve, and yeah definitely a lot of overlap in a 5.3 but from what I have been told by them is it is a pretty mild cam for a 6.0. But I have no idea, I know how to put them in haven't figured out how determine what will work best yet

Make sure the lifters are pumped up when you measure pushrod length.
I ran a tsp 220 with a 112 Lsa in a 5.3 and with the stock converter the truck was a absolute dog until 3600. I put a 3200 in and always wished I had put a 3600 in it but it was my first setup and still towed with it.

I will keep you guys posted on the trucks street manners, once I get the new push rods ordered. Everything else is pretty much back together just waiting on the final pieces and then tuning. The push rods through me for a loop at first because they had no lash up and down and side to side on cylinder one but pretty much every other lifter had some sort of lash. But it will be all set soon enough.

Still very confused as to what is going on and would love some more opinions, I have measured over and over and I keep getting a pushrod length of 7.4 without any preload. I have been back and forth with TSP and they find it very strange that the push rods will be longer after the heads and cam swap, since the heads were milled and the 220r cam going in has only a slightly smaller base circle. I have measured length on multiple cylinders and continue to get 7.4. If anyone has any other suggestion for me to try that would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using aftermarket lifters or perhap a different design of stock lifters? I think there are similar lifters with different cup heights.

Have you tried measuring the push rod length checker to verify it adds up to what you think it is by counting turns?

What model of pushrod checker do you have?

They are stock LS1 lifters, the check is a comp cam 7702 which is good for 6.8 to 7.8. I don’t have something to check the length of the tool but at 11 turns which puts it at 7.4 it is the same size as the stock 7.4 push rod.
