If I had the money skip the sc and go straight to a turbo or no better yet the twins, with ls6 cnc'd heads, long tubes, efans, a good FI cam, 200 shot of N2O, nice catback, 3k stall, shift kit and an extra 2k in cash lying around so you can buy a built 4l80e because you will toast the 60e first time you get on it, then with beefed tranny put some slicks on the back and get ready to run in the 11's
oh and I forgot the auburn or eaton rearend, Id stick with 3.73 gears for highway cruising
oh and while we're at it through some methanol injection on there
but wait why are we even bother with this on a 5.7 why not just go with a 427 and then add all the above

Guys, he has a 95 which is an old TBI motor and has no potential. No matter what you do, that motor will be slow unless you:
A) Swap it with an old-school carbed small or big block
B) Get a good fuel injection setup, and get some good heads (possibly vortec 350 heads)
C) Swap in a late model motor such as an LT1/LS1/5.3/6.0 This wouldn't be any more expensive than a supercharger or turbo, and I think that you would be MUCH more happy with the results. You will still have probably the same or MORE power than you would with a supercharger on that TBI motor, perfect drivability, and you would be able to add stuff on top of that to make it really powerful if you would like.

The problem with the 96 is very similar. You have 19lb/hr injectors, and you can't replace them with anything bigger because of the kind of injector. If you are going to do either supercharger/turbo you would need to get additional injectors, and a controller like comes with the whipple kit if you want to make some decent power (there are probably a few guys on this board who would sell you theirs). If you don't want to add the additional injectors then I would build up the truck NA, because you will get a bit more power before you max out the injectors with an NA setup. Good luck deciding! BTW I had a 96 with a powerdyne, and it was lots of fun, but I wish that I had gone with a better kit.
